How to use Would Rather and Had Better in the English language!

I don't feel happy when my explanation about how to use "would rather" and "had better " was not clear enough for my daughter who called this afternoon. So after the school meeting, I had searched for them via the google searching machine and found the very good vedios below.

"would rather" : "Would rather" is used to show a preference for one thing over another. What do you want to do today, go to the beach or go to work? I would rather go to the beach. Or...I'd rather go to the beach. I would = I'd.

"had better" : This is an idiomatic modal which closely resembles "should," but it's a little stronger than "should."

I sent the links to my daughter immediately and hope the visitors who kindly click on the ERIC/Surin2 blogspot like the vedios too.

Have a nice day!

Thanks a lot to the 2 webs above!

By the way, the orchid flower is from my garden. Do you like it?
